Pascha – 01 May 2021 – Byzantine Rite

Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is risen; He is risen indeed! Christos Anesti; Alithos Anesti!

This, too, came to pass as foretold; Christ said in Galilee that the Son of Man must be given to sinners for them to beat, crucify, and kill, and so He was, and on the third day He rose again, in accordance with the scripture.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

For the Law was given by Moses; Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ.

The Law and the Prophets have instructed us in the way of wise, prudent, and decent living, so that the wise may hear and obey, and be rewarded with life and peaceful society. The Word of Christ, rather than contradicting the Law, fulfills it. We are to love God with all our strength and love our neighbor as ourselves; therein is the whole of the law and the Prophets. For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that those who believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal Life. Life eternal in the Grace and Truth of Jesus Christ is indeed life most abundant. If the Law and the Prophets are not enough to persuade us, then, well, Jesus did rise from the dead to say it again.

Be mindful every day and always to see others you might serve; be kind, uplift them and assist them. Do so for the kingdom of God and His righteousness, for you bear His Name and are His. Pray that you may see others as living icons, windows into heaven and images of God. That is the way to Grace, and by the Grace of God you shall behold Our Resurrected Lord directly. In the mean time, join us in the Lord’s Supper, and take His Body and His Blood into you, and be at peace.

He is Risen! Amen.
